Percutaneous Thrombin Injection with Balloon Protection for a Large Iatrogenic Femoral Artery Pseudoaneurysm: A Case Report with Review of Literature

چکیده
Iatrogenic femoral artery pseudoaneurysms (IFAPs) are not uncommon due to the increase in various minimally-invasive endovascular procedures. Percutaneous thrombin injection is an established technique for large pseudoaneurysms. When ultrasound-guided compression of aneurysmal neck feasible, percutaneous can be combined with balloon occlusion prevent leakage into parent artery. We describe a IFAP following removal dialysis catheter after inadvertent arterial puncture, which was managed (USG) simultaneous at level without any complications. Follow-up imaging showed thrombosed recurrence.

Iatrogenic pseudoaneurysm of femoral artery: case report and literature review.
The case of a patient who developed a femoral artery pseudoaneurysm (FAP) following cardiac catheterization is described. It is one of the most troublesome complications after various invasive cardiovascular procedures related to the femoral arterial access site. Iatrogenic pseudoaneurysms (IPA) form when an arterial puncture site fails to seal, allowing arterial blood to ooze into the surround...
متن کاملTreatment of an iatrogenic femoral artery pseudoaneurysm with percutaneous duplex-guided injection of thrombin.
A65-year-old woman was referred to the vascular laboratory after coronary angiography and stent insertion via an 8F right femoral artery sheath. The patient received ticlopidine 500 mg after the procedure. A large pulsatile mass with a diffuse hematoma developed several hours after removal of the sheath from the groin, and a 4.2-cm false aneurysm arising from the common femoral artery was confi...
متن کاملSuccessful Treatment of an Iatrogenic Giant Femoral Artery Pseudoaneurysm With Percutaneous Thrombin Injection
A femoral artery pseudoaneurysm (FAP) is one of the most troublesome complications following invasive procedures related to the femoral arterial access. Post-procedure FAP rarely occurs; however, its occurrence tends to increase with the more frequently antiplatelet agents, anticoagulants, and larger-sized catheter used for interventional procedures. Traditionally, surgical repair has been cons...
متن کاملUltrasound-guided thrombin injection for the treatment of an iatrogenic hepatic artery pseudoaneurysm: a case report
INTRODUCTION Percutaneous transhepatic portal embolization is often performed to expand the indications for hepatic resection. Various etiologies of hepatic artery pseudoaneurysm have been reported, but regardless of the etiology, hepatic artery pseudoaneurysm is usually managed with an endovascular approach or open surgery, depending on the location and clinical symptomatology. However, it is ...

Femoral artery Pseudoaneurysm (FAP) is one of the most troublesome complications after various invasive radiological procedures related to the femoral arterial access site. Iatrogenic pseudoaneurysms (IPA) form when an arterial puncture site fails to seal, allowing arterial blood to ooze into the surrounding tissues and form a pulsatile hematoma. This occurs in 0.8% to 2.2% after interventional...
